Artifacts- EDCI 672 Expertise vs. Experience Visual and Reflection on Instructional Design Expertise

Competency- This assignment provided me with the opportunity to identify and apply key characteristics of problem solving.  As the conclusion to my EDCI 672 reflection, I wrote “Overall, I feel I am better at problem solving than problem finding, and will not improve until I find a way to apply both levels of expertise in my work.  Experience, practice, and research of published works are going to be my keywords for my progression in the instructional design field.  Currently, I feel I do best at understanding the scholarly articles related to the cases that were analyzed, and identifying the stakeholders.  My weaknesses lie in identifying the specific design challenges and case constraints accurately, without incorrectly placing a case constraint as a design challenge or vice versa.  In addition to reading and research, I would like to gain more practice in instructional design by assisting in projects for my company, eventually taking the lead on a project that would be effective for my target audience” (Wolfe, 2014).  I still feel that this is an accurate summary of my continued development and learning.

In addition, I have gained valuable information and experience by being a part of professional organizations, subscribing to several social media and websites, and attending conferences.  The ICE conference was a great way to re-connect with my educator background, as well as finding ways to continue to incorporate e-learning into my projects.
